DEHN is an innovative and worldwide active family-owned company with a history of more than 100 years.
Our concern is the protection against the impacts of direct lightning strikes and surges and protection against the possible hazards of electrical energy:

DEHN in GermanyDEHN - Tradition of safety

Fascinated by the force of nature of a "lightning strike", Hans Dehn picked up the idea of specialising in lightning protection. Since the foundation of his company 100 years ago back in 1910 in Nuremberg, he was engaged both in the installation of electrical systems and in the installation of lightning protection systems.

Based on his inventiveness he also started to manufacture lightning protection and earthing components at the beginning of the 1920s.

The fact that electrical and electronic devices and systems found their way into all aspects of life and fields of work showed very soon that conventional lightning protection alone is not sufficient since it only provides protection against fire. The importance of internal lightning protection, also known as surge protection, became evident. As a result of intensive development work DEHN launched the world’s first indoor surge arrester for use in low-voltage installations at the beginning of the 1950s.

Shortly afterwards, the product range was extended by safety equipment for the protection of persons working in, installing and maintaining these electrical systems.

Almost 1500 DEHN employees proudly look back on more than 100 years of continuous development.
